Sad Flowers

I knew that the weather guessers were calling for cold weather and possibly snow but I really didn’t want to believe it. When I looked out the window this afternoon and saw the snow I was truly in a state of panic. After this last weekends beautiful weather I really thought this was over. So I decided to make the best of it and show the flowers in the snow. After all they are the ones that truly have cause to be sad.

Steelers Training Camp

Last week my wife informed me that she had just won VIP tickets to go to St. Vincents College in Latrobe, PA to watch the Steelers practice at their training camp. When I first heard about it I thought that there was no chance that I was going to be able to take my camera. We get there and they escort us onto the field to watch the practice. We were just feet from the sidelines on the field. They had instructed us not to kneel, sit or turn around. This was for our safety so that we didn’t get run over by any of the players. That’s how close we were to the practice. I started looking around and noticed that there were plenty of people with cameras. So I run back to my car grab my camera bag and put my telephoto lens on my camera and start taking some pictures. I was very limited as to my angle and the coaches kept getting in my way. However all of that being said I am pretty pleased with what I captured. Big Ben was looking good and so was Antonio Brown.

The people of Marjah, Afghanistan (2010)

Check out this video I just uploaded to Vimeo. It is a preview of the book I am putting together for the images I took in Afghanistan. I suggest viewing it in HD on Vimeos site.

In 2010 I deployed to Marjah, Afghanistan as a member of a Police Mentor Team. It was our job to train, mentor and observe the Afghani Police force in Marjah. I soon realized that the world media was missing a crucial part of the Afghan story, the people. I made it my personal mission to document and share the story of the society in Marjah.

On September 16th me and my new bride went on our Honeymoon. We started in Paris for a day, went through the Chunnel to London and spent six days their. London was amazing and we did all the major attractions and then some. Next went to Rome for a day. Then we rented a car and road tripped through Tuscany. Let me tell you it takes some serious gonads to drive in Rome. we first went to Forte De Marme a beach near Pisa in Tuscany. Then we went to Greve in Chianti and had one of the best meals on the planet in Pazzano. then back to Rome for a flight to Paris for our last day in Europe. What an adventure, we had up’s and down’s and everything in between. Best Honeymoon ever.

Check out my images of the trip and leave a comment. I thrive on positive and negative feedback so let me know what you think.

Thanks David
